As we move from CLAHRC YH to ARC YH……

As we come to the end of CLAHRC Yorkshire and Humber programme we reflect on the huge achievement of the programme over the last 5 years. And the numbers tell a very good story indeed:

  • over £14 million secured in match funding

  • 242 completed projects

  • 286 publications

  • 2.6 million in industry match

  • 58 PhD students completed

  • over £74 million in external grant capture

  • and a whopping 127, 093 research participants recruited to our studies.

And we are confident that the transition from CLAHRC YH to ARC YH should be relatively smooth as many of the building blocks of success from the CLAHRC YH programme will remain and progress into the ARC YH programme. We take with us world leading experts in child health, mental health, older people, emergency medicine, health economics and improvement science. And we will build on our established local and national cohorts and datasets that are utilising innovative methodologies, aligning epidemiological research with trial evaluation of interventions. We will we continue to fight hard to ensure we engage with and include hard to reach groups and marginalised populations in our research, including those with severe mental health conditions and advanced frailty.

CLAHRC YH had both national and international impact and we intend for ARC YH to do the same. Watch this space!
