Early life and prevention
The Early Life and Prevention theme will bring together policy makers, communities and charitable organisations to develop effective and sustainable interventions to improve health, catalysing systems change across the region and beyond. Led by Professor Kate Pickett and Dr Rosie McEachan, our focus will be on developing research priorities and interventions with the community. We will utilise the incredible infrastructure developed alongside the CLAHRC, including the linked routine health and education data linkage of over 500,000 individuals, the Born in Bradford and Born in Bradford’s Better Start cohorts, and city-wide opt-in consent to routine data linkage for research during pregnancy.
Our team has expertise in: developing and evaluating complex evidence-based interventions to improve health and wellbeing in ethnically diverse and deprived populations focusing on child development, obesity, oral and mental health.
