Use of Urgent, Emergency and Acute Care by Mental Health Service Users

The current study is a collaboration between our ARC's Urgent and Emergency Care and Mental and Physical Multimorbidity themes.

The study aims to improve understanding of the urgent and emergency care use by individuals with serious mental illness through the use of CUREd, a unique linked record-level dataset comprising data on urgent, emergency, acute and mental health care services in South Yorkshire.

This dataset allowed exploration of NHS111 call data, emergency ambulance incidents, A&E attendances and emergency admissions to hospital for all individuals accessing mental health services provided by a NHS mental health provider trust serving a large city in northern England.
