Exploring Advanced Clinical Practitioner’s experience developing clinical competence and opinions on role identity

This study is an ARC collaboration with the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery and examines the experiences of Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs).

In depth work is required to assess whether the aim of introducing this new practitioner, to address the workforce challenges facing the UEC system, meet the demands placed on services and provide new career opportunities for staff, is being achieved. Therefore, this study carried out online focus groups with trainee and qualified ACPs, to understand experiences across the spectrum of academic learning and clinical practice.
