Ruby Bhatti OBE DL

Ruby has over 15 years of experience as a Public Contributor. She is Chair of the Wolfson Centre for Applied Research; Chair for the Quality and Safety Patient’s Panel and Improvement Academy both based at Bradford Institute for Health and Research (BIHR) and Board Member for the NIHR YH ARC Strategy Board. She is Co-Chair for the Service User Research panel at the University of Bradford.  She is a Reviewer for the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and Assessor for NHS National Innovation Accelerator ( NIA). She is a  Patient Research Champion for  CRN NIHR Yorkshire & Humber  and Bradford Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust( BTHFT). She is the Co-Chair for the EMRI ( Ethnic Minority Research Inclusive) Group for CRN NIHR Yorkshire & Humber . Ruby sits as a lay Associate Hospital Manager for the Mental Health Department, and is also a  member on the Mental Health Legislative Committee both for Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust (BDCFT).  Ruby has  been appointed on NIHR Recovery, Resilience and Growth Group (RRG). She was previously a member of NIHR Urgent Public Health Review Panel. She is also a NICE Expert panel member. Ruby is a Patient and Carer Lecturer. She was awarded an OBE for housing and young  people, a Honorary Doctorate from the University of Bradford and more recently appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire.
