Kate Morton

Research Fellow

Kate is a Health Psychologist and Research Fellow based in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York. Kate supports the Best Start topic of the Yorkshire and Humber Applied Research Collaboration, and is involved in several projects aimed at improving the mental and physical health of parents and families. Kate also coordinates the Best Start Shaping Family Wellbeing community group in Hull, and works closely with research partners from the Bradford Institute for Health, the University of Huddersfield, NHS trusts, and community organisations.
Kate’s research interests include:

  • Promoting and supporting inclusive patient and public involvement and engagement in research
  • Using creative involvement approaches to facilitate co-production of research with public contributors
  • Addressing health inequalities in health research
  • Using qualitative and mixed-methods to explore the development, optimisation and implementation of healthcare interventions
