The BaBi Network is excited to announce that Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust have officially joined the Born and Bred In (BaBi) network, led by Principal Investigator Michelle Jones and the Trust’s research midwives, .
Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated trust, providing both acute and community health services. It serves two local populations: Greater Huddersfield which has a population of around 245,000 people and Calderdale with a population of 220,000 people. Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust maternity services provide care for over 4,000 women giving birth each year across the Trust and within the Community.
The BaBi Network is a growing collaboration of local electronic birth cohort studies across the UK, supported by the Born in Bradford programme and NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Yorkshire & Humber (YHARC). BaBi sites work with pregnant women who choose to join the project, enabling health researchers to securely and responsibly link routinely collected information about them and their babies, to identify patterns that can improve health, care, and services for families both locally and nationally.
The BaBi Network looks forward to the positive impact this partnership will bring. If you would like to find out more about BaBi Calderdale and Huddersfield, please get in touch with our team.
