Guest Speaker: Jennifer Syson – Research Matron BTHFT & NIHR Senior Research Leader: Nursing & Midwifery
In this Lunch & Learn Jen will draw on her own experiences to explore routes into a research delivery career. Having started as a research midwife at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, Jen progressed to lead one of the region’s most successful Reproductive Health & Childbirth Research Delivery Teams. Jen is now a Research Matron at BTHFT and has recently been successful at securing a NIHR Senior Research Leader Role. Jen is also the Chair of the NIHR National Reproductive Health & Childbirth Champions Group.
Drawing on this wealth of experience Jen will also talk about top strategies to implement research delivery into clinical care, building a workforce of clinicians who understand the importance of research delivery with the skills to deliver research. This in turn can build capacity for Trusts to increase their research activity and enables clinicians to begin to experience the potential of a career in research delivery.
