Success for YH ARC PhD student, Wajeeha Raza

Congratulations to Wajeeha Raza on successfully defending her PhD

YH ARC Health Economics theme is pleased to announce that Wajeeha Raza, at the Centre for Health Economics, University of York, has successfully passed her viva, earning a PhD for her research on ‘An Economic Evaluation of Investments for Urban Green Spaces’. Her supervisors were Professor Laura Bojke, Dr Peter Coventry and Professor Piran White. 

Prior to joining CHE, Dr Raza worked in the Economic Evaluation and Analysis department at the World Health Organisation HQ supporting the UHC Compendium, which is a tool to support countries in benefit package development. She has also worked as a research fellow with the Aga Khan University where she was primarily supporting the government of Pakistan in costing and prioritisation of a benefit package.

Dr Raza holds a BSc in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences, and an MSc in health economics from Johns Hopkins University as a Fulbright Scholar. Dr Raza now looks forward to working with the economic evaluation and analysis team at WHO again, where she will is supporting global UHC costing story, and evidence synthesis on adaptive HTA.
