We are so proud to see Nat recognised for co-developing VICTOR (Visible Impact of Research), an initiative led here at NIHR ARC Yorkshire and Humber (YH ARC).
Developed with NIHR funding right here in Yorkshire and Humber, VICTOR is the UK’s first online tool for real-time research impact assessment. It was designed to help researchers showcase and understand the real impact of their work, moving away from abstract metrics to something much more practical and grounded.
At its core, VICTOR is a digital tool that helps people working in health, care, and research show the real difference their work makes. It provides a simple, structured way for teams to record and share how their projects improve care for patients, support staff, and benefit their wider communities. The impact is clear and it is already being used by over 70 health and care organisations across the UK to demonstrate the value of their research.
Seeing this project get picked up and celebrated by the Occupational Therapy community is a brilliant validation of the hard work that has gone into it.
On receiving the award, Nat shared:
“I am incredibly honoured to receive the Occupational Therapy Excellence Award for Research Effectiveness. VICTOR was created to make the often unseen impact of research visible, showing how research changes patient care, develops staff, strengthens organisations and improves health services. This award recognises the power of collaboration between clinicians, researchers, patients and partners across the NHS, and reinforces my belief that research should be embedded in everyday occupational therapy practice to improve lives.”

Huge well done, Nat! It’s a fantastic achievement and a great reflection of the work you do here at YH ARC.
For those interested in seeing the tool in action, you can watch the Lunch and Learn session on VICTOR below, where the development and impact of the platform are discussed in detail.
