Tyler is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Research (CAMHR), which is the NIHR Mental Health Research Group at the University of Hull. His current work at CAMHR focuses on improving care pathways for people with co-occurring substance use disorder and mental health problems. His background is in psychology, having received his PhD in 2022 on the topic of exploring experiences of mental health and substance use among transmasculine people. He has contributed to research across the fields of social work, psychology, criminology, and research and innovation. Tyler is experienced in designing and conducting mixed-methods research, with an emphasis on qualitative inquiry and enhancing engagement with underrepresented groups in research.
