Guest Speaker: Adam Harangozo – NIHR Wikipedian in residence

This webinar will explore how the NIHR is using Wikipedia to disseminate health and care research and offer ways to participate in the project.

The online encyclopedia is one of the most visited health resources on the internet. The medical articles of the English-language Wikipedia have been viewed nearly two billion times in 2022. This offers a platform to share health information with a wide audience that includes the general public but also medical students and health professionals.

In this webinar, the NIHR’s Wikipedian in residence will talk about his role and share examples on how the NIHR is improving Wikipedia articles by enriching them with new research evidence. He will also explain how researchers, PPI representatives and information professionals can participate in NIHR’s project short- and long-term.
