The NIHR Yorkshire and Humber Applied Research Collaboration (YHARC) has officially launched its new Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement Network Group (PPIE), marking a significant step forward in putting communities at the heart of health research across the region.
YHARC conducts applied health research to improve the health and wellbeing of the 5.4 million people in the region, bringing together expertise from universities, NHS trusts, local authorities and partners. NIHR ARC YH The new PPIE Network Group builds on this foundation by creating a dedicated space for patients, carers, and members of the public to actively shape the research agenda.
The network aims to support patients, carers and members of the public to get involved in research projects, and provide training opportunities for both researchers and members of the public to learn more about how to effectively work together.
YHARC is committed to engaging effectively with the public and service users to promote genuine community and patient co-production of research and delivery of impact NIHR and the new PPIE Network Group is central to delivering on that commitment.
