Better Start Bradford is making support and services for families stronger, and finding what works, so that children can have the best start in life. Born in Bradford’s Better Start (BiBBS) is the world’s first experimental birth cohort. Established in 2016, 5000 families have been enrolled into BiBBS.
Data from the BiBBS cohort is used to help understand the impact of the Better Start Bradford programme and support planning of better services for families in the region. This project is specifically seeking to understand how Pakistani-Muslim women experience motherhood during the postnatal period, including their knowledge, experience and understanding of psychological distress after childbirth.
