Share:

This project aims to understand Asian or Asian British women’s experiences and perceptions of male partner/spouse involvement in maternal health services in West Yorkshire. The study will employ qualitative methodology with semi-structured interviews informed by narrative approach. Semi-structured qualitative interviews will be conducted with approximately 15-17 Asian or Asian British women residing within West Yorkshire and who are pregnant or in the postnatal period. Data will be analysed using a thematic analysis approach. In addition, a multi-stakeholder workshop will be also conducted to discuss the empirical findings from the interviews and jointly develop and define research questions for the next research that meet collective needs to overcome the challenges of male involvement in maternity health services in communities from Asian or Asian British ethnic groups. This multistakeholder inclusive workshop will utilise the principles of participatory approach to foster wider engagement and collaboration among 12-15 stakeholders.
