Ruth Wadman

Research Fellow

Ruth is a Research Fellow in the Mental Health and Addiction Research Group at the University of York. Her research focuses on what works to protect and improve adolescent mental health, as part of the Age of Wonder Adolescent Mental Health Collaboratory.

Ruth joined the University of York in 2017. Prior to this, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Durham University and the University of Nottingham. Ruth is a Chartered member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and is a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy.

Ruth’s research interests focus on youth mental health, including self-harm, student mental health and the meaningful involvement of young people in research. Her previous research has examined emotional and social wellbeing in young people with neurodevelopmental conditions.
