Integrated Neighbourhood Health (INH) is a strategic priority for our Integrated Care Board (ICB) and getting it right means making decisions that are grounded in the best available evidence. EMBED-INH is a programme of work led by three Knowledge Mobilisation Fellows from the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Yorkshire & Humber, working in partnership with the ICB to ensure research evidence actively shapes how INH is designed, delivered and improved across our region.
The programme brings together a portfolio of projects that connect ICB decision-makers with the evidence, expertise and tools they need to drive meaningful change in neighbourhood health. Our offer includes:
- Tailored webinars for ICB decision-makers, providing accessible, timely access to research evidence on the issues that matter most to integrated neighbourhood health. Each session is designed around the questions ICB colleagues are grappling with, making evidence easy to find, understand and apply.
- Theory of Change workshops for ICB leaders, creating space for senior leaders to map out how INH ambitions translate into action. These facilitated sessions help articulate the assumptions, mechanisms and outcomes underpinning INH transformation, with a clear focus on the ICB’s strategic role.
- Best practice guidance, synthesising the latest research and learning from across the NHS and beyond into practical resources that support local implementation and decision-making.
- Integrated models of neighbourhood health, drawing together evidence on what works, for whom, and in what circumstances, to inform how services are configured and delivered at neighbourhood level.
Through EMBED-INH, we aim to build lasting capacity for evidence-informed decision-making within the ICB, ensuring that integrated neighbourhood health in Yorkshire & Humber is shaped by the best of what research, practice and lived experience can offer.
